In an extension of structuralist inquiry, Giovanni Jance examines the interplay between narrative signifiers—however quotidian—and the passage from visibility into darkness. While photography has historically been bound to the conditions of light, this series interrogates that premise by foregrounding the already self-evident: in the absence of illumination, the photographic act becomes futile.
